A framed metal wall sculpture featuring a mysterious 1950s cowboy in a graphic patterned shirt leaning against a fence, holding his favorite beer, with a farm truck and a crescent moon in the distance. Contemporary Western art merges metal collage with painting and ink transfer techniques.

  • Medium: salvaged metal and acrylic on wood
  • Size: 49.5" H x 36.5" W x 2.75" D (framed)
  • Frame: metallic-silver wood float frame
  • Hardware: ready to hang with wire on back

Dolan's roots in screen-printing peek through in this unique mixed media work, one of several in a series celebrating the unsung heroes of the West.

Tail Light Cocktail blends metal with painting, ink transfer with assemblage, and good old-fashioned storytelling from a technicolor film to bring this mysterious character to life. In the very materials, a narrative exists, inviting us - the observers - to pay attention to what our particular life experience causes us to notice first.

Dolan repurposed a vintage cola sign and reclaimed farm fencing, along with screen-printed advertisements from decades-old magazines, to layer in the nuance of a man on the move -- one who is relaxing with a familiar but decidedly fictional beer in his hand.

Dolan Geiman Metal Wall Sculpture

Contemporary assemblage mixed media artist Dolan Geiman uses intricately cut salvaged metal to create a different type of found object artwork in upcycled materials. These original artworks hang as highly tactile metal wall sculptures, echoing some of Dolan's other artworks available in paper collage. Bold in color and rich in detail, discover some of the atypical materials given new life for these metal creations, like car doors, kitchen utensils, oil cans and antique farming equipment.
