Story
"Hand-cut paper collage, using vintage papers I collected throughout the west. Most of the papers I use are found in abandoned spaces: old gas stations, abandoned farmhouses, old ranches. The inspiration for this piece comes from something my mom told me as a child. She always said that owls were sentinels, sitting in trees and keeping watch over us. We grew up on a farm and spent our summers in a cabin when my father worked for the Forest Service. Owls seemed to always be near, keeping a watchful eye. I feel that they are always
mystical, magical."
