I have rendered my own visual definition in paper. - Dolan Geiman

I find Merriam-Webster's definition of this beautiful creature rather lacking, and so I have rendered my own visual definition in paper and watercolor -- a fully textured and rich mammal who stands surveying the land and perhaps, like all of us when we hang at the precipice of such a beautiful expanse, filled with awe and held there, dreamlike.

Process

Process

The spring months afforded me the opportunity to return to the moose sketch, started last summer, and finally bring to fruition! I am pleased to debut the completed work, a union of painting and collage techniques. The rustic hillside cabin and towering mountainscape were rendered in acrylic and watercolor; the moose and flora are hand-cut paper in my signature collage style.
