The Process

Each Dolan Geiman collage is crafted from hand-cut vintage papers sourced over decades of exploration and careful categorizing, held dearly until the perfect piece arrives to claim their colors and texture. Learn more about the making of paper collages here.

The Story

It was a joy to create this collage homage to celebrate the local flora and fauna found on the property of two DG collectors. As this piece took shape - from concept through construction - I knew it would be a special representation of these famously Texan elements.

I particularly enjoyed the challenge of bringing to life the Cherokee Bean Plants many stages of life: an artistic reinterpretation of this complex organism's distinctly beautiful phases, all wrapped into one memorialization.

Vignettes like these transport me to the special places I long to return to. It is a pleasure to create these for my collectors.
