"The perfect work to pass down for years to come."
Capturing the memory of a loved one to be shared with future generations is an honor Dolan does not take lightly in his role as an artist. In this custom mixed media work for a Colorado mountain home, Grandfather casts his rod, knee-deep in the Fraser River while the Indian Peaks dance in the sunlight behind him. Commissioned to be the centerpiece behind a built-in whiskey bar overlooking the very same mountain peaks painted into the artwork, this piece was crafted in close consultation with the clients to achieve the color palette, texture and composition they desired. Dolan incorporated antique heirlooms provided by the family – including one of Grandfather’s real fishing rod tips – into the piece, bringing together real life memories with creatively licensed additions to create the perfect work to pass down for years to come.
