Story
In those shadows were the living ghosts of deer, magpies, aspens and mahogany. - Dolan Geiman
I stayed at a cabin in the cold crisp shadows of a 14,000-foot mountain. In those shadows were the living ghosts of deer, magpies, aspens, and mahogany. Coming away from that place my head was full of indigo, violet, teal, olive, burnt white and moments of sun-bleached peach. I returned to my studio, visions of semi-transparent denizens of the wood strolling through my mind: putting brush to paint and scissors to paper, I endeavored to bring the creatures from the edges of consciousness, memory to life once more.
