A one-of-a-kind commission for a residential client
– featuring his very own feline pal – combines elements of past Dolan Geiman metal sculptures into a new figure, full of character and style like none
before. The client desired a piece reflecting the Dia de los Muertos face paint for which Dolan is well-known, sporting a turn-of-the-century style dress and brooch in night sky tones. Dolan gathered metal and found treasures from his expansive collection and layered them together, snipping flower petals from tin and adding a statement turquoise ring on request. This piece explores fashion in metal and offers a look at the bespoke customization Dolan can offer in commissioned artworks.
