Souvenirs of Nature

A broken bone and a chipped tooth, an owl feather and a sun bleached skull, a seed pod and a parched pine cone….all of these things are the souvenirs of nature. These are the time posts that lead us toward an eternity with blue skies and green clear waters. Breathe deep and walk in wet grass at midnight, and, when the day breaks, you’ll find yourself curled at the feet of a giant sycamore tree, campfire smoldering in the summer sun, leaves crackling, eyes watering. Pick up your bag and go home to your hollow log. It’s time to spread your collections over gingham cloth and pick together like a puzzle the remnants of rambling.
