When Do Your Best Ideas Come To You?

My best ideas usually come when I am just waking up. I keep a sketchbook by the bed and when my alarm goes off, just before I open my eyes, I try to force myself to make ideas happen. That sounds a bit strange but it has worked on many occasions. I think this is because the brain is in a state of rest and has no real outside distractions, so it’s easier to pull the ideas out of the swamp when the mosquitoes and frogs aren’t jumping around.
