For Your Next Trip through Nashville

Back in June when visiting Nashville for the American Artisan Festival, we asked our gracious host Lady Smokey for a few men’s shopping tips in Nashville {It seems we only have time to shop when we’re on the road}. She sent such an amazing round-up of places we just had to pass them along . Are we missing some great destinations for him? Please post below as a comment. Ladies, check out Stella – a fashion and DIY style blog with a local focus on Nashville.

Billy Reid (Green Hills – 4015 Hillsboro Pike): a man that lets his Southern roots shine with merchandising and apparel that radiates Southern gentility.

Imogene & Willie (Belmont/Hillsboro - 2601 12th Ave S): artisan denim makers and an institution of sorts around Nashville. Check out their weekly supper + song events cultivating community through food and music.

Scroll through Imogne & Willie’s Our Voice blog and you’ll land upon this post about local fashionista (and kind lady) Libby Callaway. Libby manages a vintage clothing shop inside Fanny’s House of Music named Diamond Star Halo Vintage (East End – 1101 Holly St).

Local Honey (Belmont/Hillsboro – 2009 Belmont Blvd) another go to for local designers and vintage finds, Local Honey has been featured in numerous fashion outlets, Nylon to Elle. Yelp users laud the men’s section.

Venus & Mars: The Showroom (Belmont/Hillsboro - 2009 Belmont Blvd): This shop is co-owned by supermodel Karen Elson (yes, musician Jack White’s wife) and features men’s and women’s vintage clothing from the 1800s to the 1980s, many items garnered on Elson’s travels across the globe for modeling.

One  shop we just discovered via Bearings, an online Southern lifestyle guide for men, is an upscale vintage shop in East Nashville with a focus on curated, tailored finds: J and HP (East Nashville – 717 Porter Rd).

Also over in East Nashville is a vintage shop we’ve frequented a couple times: Hip Zipper (East Nashville – 1008 Forest Ave). Good vintage finds for men and women abound!

And what’s a Nashville shopping post without mentioning a few spots for western ware. Check out Trail West (Downtown – 219 Broadway) and Katy K Designs (Belmont/Hillsboro – 2407 12th Ave S).

Thanks for the mention! Try Flip on 8th Ave for a great selection of men’s consignment clothes. For on-trend men’s wear and good sneakers, definitely hit Two Elle in the Hill Center (just down from Billy Reid) and Posh in Hillsboro Village. While we were sad to see Venus & Mars close shop, we love having Local Honey in that space!
